"...There are, however, some designers and even clients who insist that the public deserve and will respond to much higher standards in graphics. They are convinced, as Charlie Chaplin was convinced, that the best way to entertain the public is to first entertain oneself."

Wordpress 2.7—at last

After 3 years and a bit, I’ve managed to upgrade! It all happened so soon (yeah, right :P) thanks to the instant updater and thanks to ISO50 for the useful tip. The new interface is great, works like a charm and I hope the blog—the website, actually—will soon be looking as well as it runs.

Now, if I could only get an instant designer as well, my long-delayed redesign would be up and running in no time :))

Later edit:
I’ll be tinkering for a while whith some layouts till I manage to finish the design. For now, I’ll be using Cutline 2.2. Please endure the horrors for a while, my CSS/HTML skills are deplorable :)

The Grid System — the org

Antonio Carusone from AisleOne decided to do the right thing and started www.thegridsystem.org, “the ultimate resource in grid systems”.

The website contains links, templates, books, articles, just about anything that has connections to the principles of grid designing. You Work For Them also supports this great initiative (in case you didn’t know, YWFT has some of the best design-but-not-only books for sale).

The website is grid-based, of course, and it’s a pleasure to look at (check out the up-right-side button):

The initiative also has a Flickr group, join up and share your grid creations.

Great idea, excellent implementation. Take your time, don’t resize your browser :) Just fly a baloon.
