"...There are, however, some designers and even clients who insist that the public deserve and will respond to much higher standards in graphics. They are convinced, as Charlie Chaplin was convinced, that the best way to entertain the public is to first entertain oneself."

Great business card from Jan Sabach. Very useful. And memorable.

Interesting. But a little obsolete, don’t you think?

Obsolete for web designers, yes, of course, but for graphic, brand or identity designers, however we’d call us, it still is very useful :) And I bet you could use one as well if you’re in a furniture shop—other than IKEA—or other big retailer and you’re dying to measure something for your home ;)

    Thanks for dropping by. Cheers.

    Hmmm… that’s a very altruist gesture. I take a bow.

Is this relevant for the client—or another business card targeted at fellow designers?

Hahaha Kit, you’re spoiling the fun :P
Freelance designers can afford the luxury of being less formal, don’t they? :D

Besides, it is quite differentiative, it suggests the owner’s field of expertise and last but not least, if the receiver uses the card just once for measuring something the designer has achieved his goal: showing a potential client that he can be very useful, a very hard to do thing when you’re competing with hundreds of other designers. We are in the services business after all, aren’t we? :)

Iancu, tank you very much for your kind words about my card. And thanks to the others for talking about it. I think that people might find my card interesting for two reasons. Non designers notice the use of a different material than paper, designers like the fact that there is a concept behind the design and a reason for the use of translucent vinyl. I want my card to send this message: I’m a graphic designer, I am detail oriented and precise and my work is conceptual. Remember me! :) That’s all. like anybody else, I want my card to stand out.
About the comment if it is another card for fellow designers. It is, to certain extend. I’m a freelancer and I also work with other designers and design studios, so other designers are my clients too.
    Cheers. Jan

With great pleasure, I’m always happy to discuss with fellow designers :) And you certainly made your point clear.

    Best of luck ;)
