"...There are, however, some designers and even clients who insist that the public deserve and will respond to much higher standards in graphics. They are convinced, as Charlie Chaplin was convinced, that the best way to entertain the public is to first entertain oneself."

Two months ago my processor just gave its last “breath”/spin. I suspect it’s because of the intense rebooting sessions (and frequent travels to the balcony for intense cooling :P) it had to endure last summer because it didn’t have enough coolers :( This is why it’s been pretty quiet around here :)

But no more. I am now the proud owner of a Xeon powered computer (2 processors, 2,8 GHz each). It’s more of a graphic station, than your high performance PC. Didn’t go for the Mac like most creatives since I’m still quite a geek in many ways, can’t forget my IT studies in highschool :D Though I can’t say the “dark” side hasn’t tried to lure me hehe (I have an iMac at work).
Hope it “lives” at least half the time of the last one :)

And counting the days till I buy an A5 wide Wacom tablet (one month left, I hope)…

Another gem from Satoshi Kon

Paprika

It’s called Paprika, already released in Asia last year. The trailer is a must see. It seems Satoshi is again exploring psychological themes, taking it this time to the extreme (this time it’s all about dreams). Visually, I dare say it’s better than anything the US studios can come up. Can’t wait to see it. Animenewsnetwork gave it an A+ rating :)
Satoshi Kon has directed Millennium Actress, Tokyo Godfathers, Perfect Blue and Paranoia Agent. He is one of the top five anime directors from Japan.
